Perspective is everything

Great shot thanks to yier.lifelogger.com

My English Lit lecturer once told me "If it's not personal, it's not worth writing". For some reason, I thought of this the other day while shopping for detergent. (Who ever knows why?) So to make him proud, I'm bringing in the I's and the Me's. That's probably not what he meant by 'personal', but hey, I try. So here I go:

LifeLogger on Business Week Online

LifeLogger made Business Week Online's list of Reader's Picks for favourite blogging tools! I was on my emails in a pre-morning coffee stupor when I came across this and can officially testify that good news definitely works better than caffeine. This is such a big deal for us! Big super furry thanks to all you kind souls who wrote in to Business Week in favor of LifeLogger, and huge thanks to Business Week too for putting us on the list. It's really an honour to be mentioned in a publication of such caliber. Also, we know this goes without saying, but we are always grateful towards all you LifeLoggers for keeping us lively and being our inspiration to improve LifeLogger daily. We're a warm fuzzy ball of Oscar-acceptance-speech-appreciation and proud of it!

Hopefully this honourable mention will finally get my extended family to take my job seriously and stop ostracizing me for enjoying work too much.

Give us your best shot

Photos rock my socks. I've been a fan of them since the film ages, and I'm still curious to know what could possibly trump the rush of getting 10 great shots in a roll of 36. Every two weeks, we scour through LifeLogger's photo entries to find a photo that's got that certain X-factor to adorn LifeMail. That's how those whimsical, funny, gorgeous or simply amusing shots get lodged in the masthead above. The featured photo is one of the key ingredients to a wholesome and nutritious LifeMail, and we take it personally. (That's why we don't outsource photo picking to a group of Oompa Loompas, though they can be very helpful sometimes). So if you've got a photo you're proud of that you'd like to share with everyone, please log it! You may just find it in the next issue of LifeMail. On top of that sneakily smug sense of fulfillment you'll get from your photo's mass inbox invasion, you'll also get a free upgrade of an additional 200 stamps a month for your LifeLogging pleasure.

We're reading you

LifeLogger has an anti-wastage/conservation policy: Avoid coming in wasted, conserve water and electricity, and never let a good blog entry go to waste. I take the third one especially seriously. As the old saying goes, the keyboard is mightier than the sword. Also, I'm oddly fascinated by the thought that every blog entry is written by someone who believed something to be important (or stupid, or amusing or somewhat vaguely mentionable) at some time. Since the best way to waste a good blog entry is to keep it to ourselves, we're now featuring our finds on the LifeLogger homepage. Give our featured blogs a browse! You may even find yourself there (if your share settings are set to 'Public' and you've been particularly articulate lately).

Bulk is beautiful

If you haven't tried bulk uploads yet, you definitely should. It's one of those things that just makes life easier, like proper plumbing and wireless vacuum cleaners. I mean, it's just great to know that you will never have to mentally allocate weekend time for batches of media uploads to your blog again. That's emancipation, buddy. Upload loads of media at a time with LifeLogger's Flash Uploader, Windows XP Wizard, Picasa, or Nokia Lifeblog. LifeLogging shouldn't be a full time job. (Although that would be nice).

Thanks for reading, and happy LifeLogging!
